Syracuse dropped four spots after losing to Louisville, a team it hasn't beaten under head coach Ian McIntyre.

After a game-winning goal in the 87th minute and a loss to division-rival Louisville, Syracuse (4-1-2, 0-1-1 Atlantic Coast) dropped four spots to No. 11 in this week’s United Soccer Coaches rankings released Tuesday afternoon.

Defender John-Austin Ricks scored the game winner for Syracuse against Oregon State and has broken out as an offensive threat for the Orange. Jonathan Hagman added his team-best fourth goal in the close win.

Ricks added another header against then-No. 17 Louisville to put SU ahead 1-0. But back-to-back goals including a Mohamed Thiaw strike in the last minute of the first half spelled doom for the Orange, which lost its first game of the season.

Six other teams in the ACC join Syracuse inside the Top 25: No. 1 Notre Dame, No. 4 Wake Forest, No. 7 North Carolina, No. 8 Clemson, No. 9 Virginia and No. 10 Louisville.

SU begins the week with a Tuesday night matchup against Cornell at SU Soccer Stadium before hosting Duke on Friday. Duke received 32 votes in this week’s rankings.
